The Beginning and the End      This piece depicts the arrival of the Europeans in the Americas. This could be St. Lucia or any other territory. The peaceful Amerindians look out to see the strange ships and people about to land. It is the beginning of the end for their way of life, culture, and populations. It is also the beginning for the rest of the Caribbean's new population. These include European, African, East Indian, and many more in the subsequent 200 years of its history.  ~Urmie Persaud
